Come and celebrate with us followed by our LED Light Exchange

Festive Light Exchange: With the compliments of Toronto Hydro, local residents will be able to bring two strings of old incandescent seasonal lights to exchange for a string of energy efficient LED lights after the lighting of our wonderful Cavalcade of Lights Thistle.

TMSC Village Green Day

The 26th Annual Village Green Festival celebrating Etobicoke's first park will be held on Saturday June 6th from 10 am to 2 pm at Thistletown Multi Service Centre. Over 1,000 community members are expected at this family event. Events of the day include entertainment, family challenges, children's carnival, flea market, BBQ, community displays and lucky draws. Rain or shine.

Heritage Walk - Historical Thistletown
Saturday, June 27 - 1:30pm

In the 1800s, the area around Albion Road and Islington Ave was the site of a farming village called Thistletown. Discover the gems of an earlier time - 19th century farm buildings, early 20th century country homes, the first public park in Etobicoke and Toronto's last working
farm - that lie hidden amongst the urban modernity of North Etobicoke.

This fun walking tour was conceived by local resident and 2008 Toronto Region Conservation Authority Honour Roll Recipient, Joanna Twitchin.

START POINT: Thistletown Multi-Service Centre, 925 Albion Road
FINISH POINT: 89 Bankfield Dr., north of Albion Rd and Bankfield Drive
LENGTH: Approximately 1 to 2 hours
FOCUS: Historical, architectural

Earth Hour
Saturday, March 28

Last year was a huge success as the world will turn off its lights for one hour - Earth Hour - to show it's possible to take action on climate change. Homes and businesses in Etobicoke North and across the city switched off the lights and our electricity demand dropped by 8.7% during Earth Hour. Let's reduce electrical demand even more this year.

AIRPORT RUNWAY CHARITY RUN
Saturday, June 21st – Pearson International Airport
Greater Toronto Airports Authority the Runway Run! Participants ran and walked along a runway to raise funds for William Osler Health Centre’s Emergency Department at Etobicoke General Hospital located in our Ward. The hospital serves the airport’s emergency response team.

North Humber Park Re-Opening

North Humber Park now features new landscaping, play and sports structures, splash pad and seating.
